چکیده
Recurrent events analysis plays an important role in many applications, including the study of chronic diseases or recurrence infections. Historically, models for recurrent have been variants Cox model. In this article we introduce and describe application piece-wise exponential Additive Mixed Model (PAMM) illustrate how PAMMs can be used to flexibly model dependencies data. Simulations confirm that provide unbiased estimates as well equivalence when proportional hazards are assumed. Applications staphylococcus aureus malaria children estimation seasonality, bivariate non-linear effects, multiple timescales relaxation assumption via time-varying effects. Modeling Exposure-Lag-Response Associations with Penalized Piece-wise Exponential Models
We present a novel approach for the flexible modeling of exposurelag-response associations, i.e., time-to-event data where multiple past exposures are cumulatively associated with the hazard after a certain temporal delay. Our method is based on piece-wise exponential models and allows estimation of a wide variety of effects, including potentially smooth and time-varying effects as well as cumu...
متن کاملRecovery of Piece-Wise Planar and Piece-Wise Rigid Models from Non-Rigid Motion
We present a framework for estimating 3D relative structure (shape) and motion given objects undergoing non-rigid deformation as observed from a fixed camera, under perspective projection. Deforming surfaces are approximated as piece-wise planar, and piece-wise rigid. Robust registration methods allow tracking of corresponding image patches from view to view and recovery of 3D shape despite occ...
متن کاملRegression analysis of mixed recurrent-event and panel-count data with additive rate models.
Event-history studies of recurrent events are often conducted in fields such as demography, epidemiology, medicine, and social sciences (Cook and Lawless, 2007, The Statistical Analysis of Recurrent Events. New York: Springer-Verlag; Zhao et al., 2011, Test 20, 1-42). For such analysis, two types of data have been extensively investigated: recurrent-event data and panel-count data. However, in ...
متن کاملDynamic Frailty and Change Point Models for Recurrent Events Data
Abstract. We present a Bayesian analysis for recurrent events data using a nonhomogeneous mixed Poisson point process with a dynamic subject-specific frailty function and a dynamic baseline intensity func- tion. The dynamic subject-specific frailty employs a dynamic piecewise constant function with a known pre-specified grid and the baseline in- tensity uses an unknown grid for the piecewise ...
متن کاملCapacity Bounds and High-SNR Capacity of the Additive Exponential Noise Channel With Additive Exponential Interference
Communication in the presence of a priori known interference at the encoder has gained great interest because of its many practical applications. In this paper, additive exponential noise channel with additive exponential interference (AENC-AEI) known non-causally at the transmitter is introduced as a new variant of such communication scenarios. First, it is shown that the additive Gaussian ch...
